Acura Maintenance Minderâ„¢

Thanks to the Acura MDX Maintenance Minderâ„¢ System, our Union County neighbors no longer have to remember when to perform Acura MDX maintenance. The Acura Maintenance Minderâ„¢ lights up a small maintenance icon on your dashboard when it’s time for Acura MDX maintenance, using a series of lettered and numeric codes. These codes tell you exactly what type of maintenance your vehicle is due for—consult your owner’s manual to identify what each of the Acura service codes means.

Acura MDX Maintenance Schedule

Preventative  maintenance for your Acura MDX can drastically lengthen its life, maximize its resale value, and keep you from getting stranded on Bridgewater highways. Below are the recommended Acura MDX maintenance intervals:

  • Tire Replacement: Keep an eye on your tire tread because you’ll likely need a new set of tires between 30,000 to 50,000 miles.
  • Oil Change: You should change your oil every three to six months, or every 4,000 to 7,500 miles. Check your Acura MDX owner’s manual for specific recommendations for your car.
  • Battery Replacement: Your car battery should be replaced every 3 to 4 years. Watch for any difficulty starting your car or any visible battery deterioration—these can be a signs that you should replace your battery soon.
  • Brake Pad Replacement: Your brakes need to be inspected, and your brake pads replaced, at around 30,000 and 60,000 miles. If your brake pedal feels squishy, or you hear squeaking or grinding when you apply the brake, bring your MDX in for service immediately.
  • Coolant Replacement: You should have your engine coolant replaced every 2 to 3 years.
  • Brake Fluid Replacement: Every 2 years, have your brake fluid replaced.
  • Transmission Fluid Replacement: Your Acura MDX transmission fluid should be drained and refilled between 30,000 to 60,000 miles for a manual transmission, and between 60,000 to 100,000 miles for an automatic transmission.
  • Tire Rotation Service: Regular tire rotation will help prevent your tires from wearing down prematurely on Staten Island roads. Rotate your tires every 6 months or 7,500 miles.
