Electric vehicles used to be niche, expensive, and hard-to-find, but these days they’re more affordable and available than ever! Almost every popular automaker offers at least one hybrid or electric vehicle in their lineup, from two-door convertibles to full-size family SUVs and robust pickup trucks. Acura has dabbled in hybrids in the past, such as the NLX and RSX, but they have yet to release a fully-electric vehicle – until now! Last August, Acura officially joined the electric game by announcing the Acura Precision EV at Monterey Car Week. The Precision EV is a fully-electric crossover SUV slated for release in 2024 and featuring an all-new design language that blends high-performance power with luxury styling. The Acura EV won’t be arriving at Springfield Acura for a bit, but we have plenty of details right now! Check out the guide below for details, and be sure to keep an eye on our inventory so you know when the Precision EV arrives.
Honda and General Motors recently announced a partnership to build affordable new electric vehicles in the coming years, designed to cater to a broad range of budgets and lifestyles. The centerpiece of this lineup is the Ultium battery platform, an innovative platform that already powers vehicles like the GMC Hummer EV and Chevy Silverado EV, and will be the basis of the Acura Precision EV and the upcoming Honda Prologue SUV.
The Acura Precision will debut the newest design language from Acura, drawing inspiration from classic high-performance vehicles like luxury powerboats and sports cars. This design language will be seen in exterior features like a Diamond Pentagon Grille and 23-inch wheels, as well as “Particle Glitch” front lighting. Inside the cabin, the Acura Precision EV will be more advanced and driver-focused than any other Acura vehicle, with high-tech new features like a curved transparent infotainment display with haptic touchscreen feedback! The Acura EV has also been designed with sustainability in mind, making use of eco-friendly materials like vegan leather, FSC-certified wood, and recycled plastics and aluminum.
While the Acura Precision EV won’t be hitting the streets of Bridgewater and Staten Island until next year at the earliest, you can contact our office to make sure you’re among the first to know when it’s here! In the meantime, be sure to check out our model research and our blog for details on the vehicles in our current lineup, such as the 2023 Acura Integra specs, as well as more automotive news and the latest service tips.
